So I am taking a break this week from video games to discuss some movies coming out soon that I am looking forward to.
First up is the movie “Kick Ass”, yes that is the title. It’s about a comic fanboy who wants to live out his fantasies of fighting crime and makes a mask and costume to take up vigilantism. The only downside is he doesn’t have any powers. I know it didn’t stop Batman from being awesome but I think he is more of an exception to the rule.
Next is the highly anticipated(to fans at least) Avatar movie. No not James Cameron’s Big Budget Blue Bomb, the awesome Nickelodeon show Avatar: The Last Air Bender. Its being directed by M. Night “what a twist” Shyamalan and looks to be really good so far.

Finally is the awesome looking Iron Man 2. This one concerns Tony Stark dealing with his increase in fame and pressures from the government that lead him down the dark path of alcoholism and run ins with the law. All the more why I found the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is so fitting. Don Cheadle replaces the previous guy whose name escapes me as Stark’s Military friend who becomes War Machine.
Its a photoshop but still looks cool and gives off what you need to know.
Scarlett Johansson plays new love interest/evil gun for hire Black widow.

Here is the comi-con leak
This is the leak that was pulled from every where a few weeks ago. I think it looks like its going to be good and look forward to it coming to theaters next May.
Next week I plan on making an argument about censorship in the wake of the Modern Warfare 2 debacle.
My girlfriend tunred into the moon,
Chris

Why Kanye rocks.
Bottles to the face! Maybe if he was drinking NERD he wouldn’t have been a rehtard. He is still the man though. Jesus walks.

Kristin’s Thoughts On The Britney Spears’s “Circus” Tour
On September 5th, 2009 I saw Britney Spears in concert in Greensboro, NC. Now has a loyal Britney fan for 11 years you can imagine how excited I was for this concert. She opened with “Circus” in which she was suspended from the ceiling in a cage in a snazzy gold leotard. (Don’t get me started on leotards, Beyonce, Rihanna, and NOW BRITNEY…ughhhhhhhh). One of my favorite parts of the concert was when she did a cover of Alains Morisset’s “You Outta know”. She came out looking confident in tight black pants, a bra, cut off denim vest, tall black leather boots and aviators. She nailed the vocals on that song, I was proud! She closed with one of my favorite songs,”Womanizer”, wearing a cop uniform. Overall the concert was cute and perky. Overall the show was entertaining but mainly because the choreographer of this tour was smart. He had her dancers carrying her across the stage, incorporated disappearing acts and other magic tricks, and utilized moving props that carried her from one side to the other. That that fire she had in her eyes five years ago has died. Her moves use to be more on point, her dances were hard, her facial expressions were fierce, and one could do their laundry on her abs. Now, her dances are simple, her facial expressions are lacking, and it’s no secret that she’s gained weight. I miss old Britney, but I’m glad we still have a Britney!!

PIC: binglite chillin in his dorm, drinking zero cal.

Meet Bing ‘Tungsten’ Lite. He is just an average lightbulb living an absolute baller lifestyle. He has his own website, his own blog, his own store (kind of expensive though) and the ladies love him. He is a huge fan of NERD Energy, as you can tell in his first ‘Live from the Dorm’ blog post. Thought I would share this new internet celebrity with you and hopefully, we will see some new exciting NERD sitings with him!

Schwarzenegger ‘cutting’ budgets, literally.
If you notice in the beginning of this video, Commando, I mean our governor of California, is brandishing what I think is a helicopter blade of a knife. Now, I make videos all the time for my blog and twitter, but never have I thought to prove a point to people by letting them know I really mean business. Go get ‘em slugger.

here ya go cowboys
Big news out there for all you Cowboys fanatics - Tony Romo dumped Jessica Simpson! Though I’m sure if you’re as die-hard as you say, you probably already knew that. But seriously Tony, couldn’t you have waited at least another week before you broke her heart? Dumping Jessica the day before her birthday, the singer spent $19,000 to have all her belongings left at his place sent to her in L.A. Guess she really isn’t too keen on seeing her ex.
Always said to be a jinx to Romo in the football arena, a few players are happy to see Simpson go. According to linebacker Bradie James, the breakup will give Romo the time he needs to “focus”… whatever you say. It doesn’t sound like going out and drinking with giddy cheerleaders around Romo qualifies for focusing on football but hey, I’m no professional athlete.
One more upsetter, apparently there is no hope in Simpson and ex-hubby Nick Lachey getting back together. People Mag says there is too much “bad blood” between Nick and Joe, Jessica’s father. Nick recently broke up with girlfriend Vanessa and I think everyone in America was holding their breath hoping to see the Newlyweds get back together. Guess there is no hope in Britney and Justin reconciling either…darn.

Taco Bell will never EVER be the same. ever.
Our little ‘yo quiero Taco Bell’ Chihuahua has officially kicked the can. Sad news in my life. I remember in junior high, when I was Mr. Not Popular and would say ‘Yo Quiero Taco Bell’ at any good opportunity to strike a laugh with my classmates. It never worked. But I still loved to say it. This might be worse than losing Michael Jackson in my eyes.
Here is a brief description of what happened, from Herald Wire News:
Gidget, the Chihuahua best known for her Taco Bell [YUM] ad campaign, died from a stroke the other night at age 15, People.com reports. “She made so many people happy,” said Gidget’s trainer Sue Chipperton . The mostly retired actor lived out her days laying in the sun. “I like to joke that it’s like looking after a plant,” said Chipperton. “Gidget always knew where the camera was.”
You like to joke it was like looking after a plant? I’m calling PETA. Anyways, RIP Gidget, may you eat as many tacos as you want (preferably soft) in that little doggy heaven. Say hi to Lassie for me.

Kendra & Co
Okay, I’ve definitely seen the Girls Next Door episodes plenty of times, but have only seen Kendra’s spinoff show a few and she is definitely still a laugh. Getting married, settling down and getting knocked up is what she’s been up to lately and I seriously thought Kendra was never going to make it as a mom – making statements about her vagina ripping during pregnancy and still wearing those only-appropriate-for-Playboy outfits.
But, shock me out of my sterotype, Kendra has made a complete 180. She has made statements about eating what is healthy for the baby, not caring about how much weight she gains as long as the baby is healthy. Kendra states that she will lose it after the pregnancy and doesn’t care what others will think. Wow! This girl really has grown up. Leaving California behind for New Jersey to be with her hubby – watch out Real Housewives – Kendra has recharged her life and is focusing on the future of her family by eating right for the baby, supporting her husband, and removing the stripper pole from her room (at least for the time being).

Harry Potter gets Hotter!
If y0u haven’t been burried in a cave for the past decade, you know that Harry Potter has to be the biggest and best thing since sliced bread. And yes, being a beloved and faithful Harry Potter fanatic, I am a biased reviewer but the stats don’t lie people!
This past week, the sixth installment of the Harry Potter Series, The Half-Blood Prince, hit theatres nationwide. It made $104 million worldwide on its first day in theaters, making it the largest single day gross for a film release. Ever. Crazy, right? Don’t worry – it’ll probably top that, considering in two weeks the movie will hit IMAX theatres across the globe. The movie will turn into real life when viewers can watch Harry, Ron, and Hermione in IMAX and 3D – the first time fans can do so. Although it’s only for a portion of the movie, and not as a whole, critics and viewers say its still magical and David Yates has performed brilliantly – again.
